Atop Mt. Carmel, the massive valley of Jezreel lay before us. It is the northern entrance into Israel and where the Bible teaches the last great battle will be fought. The armies of Satan, the beast, and the kings of the earth will gather to attack Jesus and His hosts of Heaven at Armeggdon.

Yesterday, we visited the temple mount. This is where the Presence of God dwelt in the Holy of holies. His glory has long since left the temple when Jesus died on the cross.

We worshiped with a beautiful congregation on Mount Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal. David and Karen Davis helped start this church after God saved them, filled them with His Spirit and sent them to Israel from Times Square Church in NYC.

As we worshiped at Carmel we were drawn into the Spirit. I began to receive a word from the Lord for this church and Israel, so I wrote it down in the note pages at the back of my Bible. Again, as I wrote yesterday, this was a continued confirmation that we are on God’s mission, not ours.

Today we rested from our 28 hours without sleep. We also went to vist a few places where Jesus lived and ministered around the Sea of Galilee- Capernaum, the site of the Sermon on the Mount, and Bethsaida, along with a walk along the beautiful Galilean Lake.

As we drive into Tiberias, dusk descends across the steep hills and sea of Galilee. A blue haze hangs across the land causing an even deeper wonder to the surrounding beauty. The Golan Heights stand like distant shadows speckled with the scattered lights of homes and security stations. I cannot cease to be amazed that Jesus walked these hills, taught His truth of God and man, caused the stormy sea to calm, walked on the water, healed the sick, and spent most of His ministry around this lake discipling the men who would take His message of love and redemption to the ends of the earth.
