Two Life Impacting Experiences

January 24, 2014 | By | No Comments

Last night at Ezra International I experienced two life impacting moments. The first was the music and testimony of Sergui Popov. He preached with his violin the most beautiful sounds of God. He is a concert violinist, who under communist USSR was one of their star performers. Originally from Georgia (not north of Florida, but Turkey), he now lives in Finland. For the past 22 years he has helped lead the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem with his magnificent performances for the Lord and traveled the world to exalt Jesus and the Jewish people.

He also shared some testimony and we viewed video of Jerusalem, ballerinas and the glory of the Lord. After one performance in 1993, a professor came to him excitedly to talk about his doctorate paper on the collapse of the USSR. He shared it fell because of economic instability and no freedom. He wanted Sergui’s opinion. He said no. The collapse had nothing to do with economics and freedom. The USSR suddenly died because God wanted to send His people, the Jews, home to Israel in fulfillment of prophecy to prepare for the coming Messiah. When the USSR refused to let the Jews out of their country, God brought it down, so His people could return home! Over one million former Soviet Jews have gone home to Israel since the fall of the USSR.

THIS SUNDAY SERGUI WILL SHARE AT ENCOUNTER CHURCH IN MUSIC, TESTIMONY, AND VIDEO THE GLORY OF GOD AND THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS, THE JEWS AND END TIME PROPHESY. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO INVITE ALL FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, SUPPORTERS OF ISRAEL, AND ANYONE GOD PUTS IN YOUR PATH TO COME HEAR THIS REMARKABLE MAN OF GOD. FOR HIM TO COME SHARE AT OUR CHURCH IS A BLESSING FROM GOD AND A GIFT FROM EZRA INTERNATIONAL. THANK YOU TO BOTH GOD AND MEL. LET’S MAKE THE MOST OF THIS OPPORTUNITY.

My second life impacting moment came in the testimony of Izzy Ezagui, a soldier in the IDF, Israeli Defense Forces. This young man shared his remarkable life experiences that gripped everyone in the audience. Born and raised in Miami of Jewish and Cuban descendant, at the age of 18 he felt called to leave the USA for Israel to defend God’s people during his first visit to the Promised Land.

After nine months of intense training and learning to speak Hebrew he was deployed in the war along the Gaza Strip. During a mortar attack he had a direct hit on his left arm. It immediately was ripped from his body. Yet, he lived to tell his story. Now, without his dominate arm, this highly decorated young man, was determined to return to active combat to defend God’s people.

At first, no generals would allow it. Finally, one agreed to help him return to combat duty. He began an Olympic style training to learn to climb, shoot, and prepare for the rigorous task of fighting in battle. When he was finally ready he could not make the call to the general to reenlist. Only when he and a friend miraculously saved a drowning woman was he inspired to phone the general and return to active duty. He knew God’s people needed him and countless others to defend His people.

How rare it is to hear of such courage and sacrifice, but God has raised up His army for His people for such a time as this. Izzy is a modern day David, slaying the enemy giants of selfishness and foreign invaders against Israel because he believes and knows that NEVER AGAIN must be the rallying cry of every Israeli for the Jews to survive and for the Messiah to come.

I thank God that He has called us to join with Ezra to help them in the fulfillment of prophesy to gather the Jews home to Israel and to prepare for the coming of Jesus. I thank God for all who are helping Ezra aid the poor and persecuted of Siberia, Ukraine, Argentina, Russia…of all the Jews scattered to the four corners of the earth to come home as the Messiah rises from His throne in glory to return to us as KING of kings, to reign in Jerusalem over the nations of the world, and bring about a new heaven and earth, so we can live in the light of His glory forever.
